Overview
Coverflow's existing integration with Applied Epic allows users to trigger Coverflow Tasks directly from the Epic platform without switching applications. Once an activity is created and documents are attached, Coverflow automatically processes the request and delivers results back into Epic within minutes.
What the Integration Does
The integration connects Coverflow's workflows to your existing agency processes within your Applied Epic AMS account. Key capabilities include:
Trigger Coverflow workflows (comparisons, proposals, contract reviews, policy checks, and more) directly from the Epic Activities tab.
Attach documents from Epic—policies, quotes, binders, ACORD forms—for Coverflow to review.
Associate existing Epic policies with an activity so Coverflow automatically retrieves policy pages and endorsements.
Receive completed outputs (Excel files, Word documents) attached back to the originating Epic activity within approximately 5 minutes.
Access a direct link to the Coverflow platform for deeper review and editing of any output.
No Context Switching Required
Account managers stay inside Applied Epic from start to finish. Coverflow handles the processing in the background and delivers results back to the same activity where work began.
Supported Workflows
The following Coverflow workflows are available through the Epic integration:
Workflow | Attach | Output in Epic |
Compare Policies | Policies, quotes, binders, ACORD forms | Excel comparison file + Coverflow link |
Create Proposal | Client data, coverage info | Word document proposal + Coverflow link |
Contract Review | Contract documents | Reviewed contract + Coverflow link |
How to Initiate a Coverflow Activity in Epic
The steps below use a Policy Comparison as the example, but the same process applies to all supported workflows.
Open the Activities Tab. Navigate to the relevant account in Applied Epic and click on the Activities tab.
Create a New Activity. Click New Activity. Select the dedicated Coverflow activity code for the workflow you want to run (e.g., the Coverflow Comparison code). If your agency uses existing activity codes, those work too—Coverflow can integrate into your current agency processes either way.
Assign to the Coverflow User. Set the Owner Name to the designated Coverflow user in your system. This is what signals Coverflow to monitor and pick up the activity.
Save the Activity. Click Save Activity to create the activity record.
Attach Documents Add the documents Coverflow needs to complete the workflow. There are two ways to do this: Option A – Direct attachment: Open the Attachments folder and attach specific files (e.g., two policy PDFs for a comparison). Option B – Associate policies: Link existing policies to the activity. Coverflow will automatically pull dec pages and endorsements from the policy attachment folder.
Add a Task Assigned to the Coverflow User Once all documents are attached, add a new Task to the activity and assign it to the Coverflow user. This is the trigger that tells Coverflow you are finished uploading and it should begin processing. Do not skip this step—Coverflow will not start until the task is assigned.
Processing Time: Coverflow will process the activity and return results within ~5 minutes of the task being assigned.
What You Will Receive Back in Epic
After Coverflow finishes processing, your output results are automatically added back to the originating Epic activity.
A note is added to the activity containing a direct link to the result inside Coverflow. Use this link to dive into greater detail, edit the output, or review it on the full Coverflow platform.
